P & R Engineering Ltd is investing in a package of low-carbon process optimisation measures, to increase the use of on-site generation, reduce the significant volume of electricity currently exported, and improve the efficiency of its compressed-air and electrical systems.
The scope below is indicative; alternative equipment and approaches will be considered where equivalent or better performance can be demonstrated.
The proposed scope currently comprises:
Battery storage
• Battery energy storage system sized to maximise on-site use of generation and reduce the volume of electricity currently exported, including controls, integration with the PV system and site distribution, and all associated safety and fire protection measures.
• Design, structural loading verification, DNO G99 application and approval, certification, commissioning and handover documentation.
Compressed air
• Supply and installation of a variable-speed-drive (VSD) air compressor of approximately 15 kW, including electrical and pipework connections, controls and integration with the existing compressed-air system, and removal and disposal of redundant equipment.
Power factor correction
• Supply and installation of power factor correction equipment at address shown below including capacitor bank, detuned reactors where required, controls and metering, sized following a power quality survey of the site.
All works to comply with BS 7671, current Building Regulations and CDM 2015, with commissioning records and full O&M documentation provided at handover. Quotations may be submitted for one, several or all of the above; each technology must be priced separately.
We welcome all relevant manufacturers and suppliers to quote for this opportunity. For the full tender specification and details of how to submit, please email to Kal Jakhu at kal.jakhu@pandreng.co.uk
